Hello
I’M KATIE BEVAN
Hello, Mamma. I’m glad you are here. I’m here to help you, and I’m thrilled to be part of your journey.
I’m Katie Bevan, a bachelor’s prepared registered nurse and international board-certified lactation consultant (IBCLC) with 13 years of experience supporting breastfeeding families.
When I'm not with moms and babies, I love spending time with my own family at the beaches in Florida, and when time allows, traveling to the mountains where we can hike and ski!
OUR BEST TEACHERS
I am a mom of two young girls, and I was a pediatric nurse and lactation consultant before I became a mother. I’ll just say that having my own children is humbling, and I too struggled with breastfeeding them, one of whom was born prematurely (pictured). I continue to learn from these little humans every day, and you will learn from yours too! I want to be here to help moms build confidence that can sometimes be hard to find in those early days and long nights during the first year parenting.
MY BACKGROUND
I started my nursing career in the Navy and venturing to where I am now, I have extensive experience with the pre and postnatal period, including outpatient women’s health, inpatient NICU, inpatient postpartum, outpatient pediatrics, WIC, and home visiting. I am passionate about moms and babies, and love hearing everyone’s unique stories and background. Over my years of experience, I’ve learned to listen to the wants and needs of families so I can help guide you in setting realistic feeding goals that feel right for you and your family.
”A testimonial:
I struggle with endometriosis and resulting infertility. Both are challenging to deal with, and Katie has been an amazing support. She listens without judgement, and provides gentle encouragement when I need it. She helped me to actually make a call to the infertility specialist, and has provided a ton of both practical and emotional support throughout my multiple rounds of IVF. She is a compassionate, empathetic and knowledgeable healthcare provider who has given me medical advice related to fertility, prenatal care, and what to expect postpartum. I will continue seeking out her services moving forward (especially when we get to the prenatal and postnatal stage!) I am glad that I have her on my journey to becoming a mom, and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a provider that is well-informed, supportive, and caring to support them on their journey as well.
